Pope Benedict

Well im sure we all have read and heard the quote read out by the Pope...
now watching the news from all over the world...Pope Benedict has apologised by saying it wasnt something he said but rather from another source ...nevertheless...'why did he even say it? was it an justification for some point/issue? was there any need for the quote to be read out? why not another quote if the 'pope' really wanted to put the Muslim in the so called good light...as we have often seen western academics do in the most articulate fashion....aherm...

The Muslims yes have every right to speak out against such satanic statements...BUT burning churches? killing 'nun' what has that got to do with what the pope said? shouldnt he be the one brought to accountability...arent 'some' of the Muslims taken this issue rather extremely? making it worse then it already is?

Authentic materials have said any unlawful bantor targeted toward the prophet pbuh is punishable by death...come on people not some random nun in Sudan....the pope said it not the rest of the Christian community!

You make an excellent point. The actions of this over exuberant indiviuals just reinforces the wests stereotypes of Islam. However the Pope should have been a little wiser, he knew such a quote would cause a negative reaction, why use it? Unless of course he wanted a reaction....
